How often do we meet with people and they show up, just a few minutes late?
No big deal, right?
What if these people are continually late? To every meeting, whether it be just with you, or to a group meeting?

I have my thoughts, but I am wondering about you…

In life, things do happen, every now and again, but what happens when being late becomes a rule instead of the exception?
How many times being late is too many?
How late is too late?

Last month I learned that I had been nominated for Business Woman of the Year for the Tampa Bay Business Journal in the category of Education.

It was an honor to be nominated (THANKS - good use of those points on the Networking Scorecard), and I learned this weekend that I am a finalist!

Check out the article/list of the other categories and finalists at: http://tampabay.bizjournals.com/tampabay/stories/2010/06/28/daily50.html

During the Certified Networker Module 12, we speak on asking for referrals, and creating ways to reminds us to always be asking for referrals. There are a few ideas that I share as a trainer, but Janelle Baker from American Plumbing Solutions had a great idea! (now, I am not sure if she has implemented it yet or not, or if she intends to)  Cell phone rings can be created now, and Janelle shared you could create your cell phone ring, saying “Be sure to ask for the referral”.

I would love to hear from you on what system you have created (or want to create) to be sure that you are asking for referrals!

When I grow up… PDF  | Print |  E-mail

I was doing a training at the Palm Harbor Chamber last week… and we were talking about creating relationships with professionals in non-competing industries with the exact same target market (sometimes called Circles of Influences, Contact Spheres, Spheres of Influences, Power Teams). There is POWER in creating these relationships with these professionals, but that is a blog entry for another day.
At the training, one of the participants asked, “Do we really have to do all these things to make it work?” and I was reminded of an article that I recently read from Dr. Ivan Misner, BNI Light--Just Isn’t Right. While this was a Chamber event, and not a BNI event, I thought that the principle was the same.

Excerpt:
I’d like to win the Tour de France, but I’m really not a fan of the endless exertion involved. I’ve also always thought it would be amazing to win an Olympic medal; the extreme workouts and conditioning. . . is all that really necessary?
